Is everything included in a Jar of Mason Jar Cookies?
Our Mixes are ready to go with the exception of the dairy products. Generally you'll need up to a stick of butter and an egg, perhaps a little milk or water. Some recipes optionally can call for vanilla extract (many people substitue maple syrup, lemon zest or leave it out altogether) or in the case of the peanut butter mix up to 3/4 cup of store-bought peanut butter may be added for a particularly sinful cookie. (Our peanut butter base mix already includes peanuts and peanut butter chips so the extra calories are up to you). Each Jar should yield between 24 and 36 cookies depending on which and how many add ins you have chosen.
The brown sugar is rock hard... is that normal?
Yes, and that's a Good Thing. The uber-premium brown sugar we use is from the West Indies and has a high moisture content - as a result it will harden on the shelf which in no way affects its quality. To break the natural seal it creates between the ingredient layers in the jar, carefully use a paring knife or the handle end of a wooden spoon (we prefer a chopstick!) to poke through and then empty the jar, being sure to break up as much of the brown sugar as possible once dumped into the bowl. You might try warming the jar in a microwave (lid off, of course) for 10 - 20 seconds but dump out your yummy add-ins first!
What are the baking Instructions?
The baking instructions can be found on the Jar label. Here are the general baking instructions for our traditional, chocolate and oatmeal cookie bases (see note about the peanut butter base below):
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, mix 3/4 cup softened butter*, 1 egg & 1/2 tsp vanilla until smooth. Place Jar ingredients in a separate bowl and mix thoroughly. Add the dry ingredients to the butter and mix until fully combined. Drop heaping teaspoons of the batter 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until light brown. Let cool for 5-10 minutes and Enjoy!
* For our Peanut Butter Cookie Base, optionally substitute 1/2 cup softened butter and add 3/4 cup peanut butter to really make it sinful.

Are your mixes gluten-free? What about the add-ins?
We have a TERRIFIC gluten-free blend! Just as delicious as our traditional cookie, this blend is made with Bob's Red Mill gluten-free flour and other gluten-free products. There are a number of add-ins that are made gluten-free (such as Gummy Bears) and many that are natually gluten-free (such as certain fruits and nuts). Note: All gluten-free ingredients, however, are handled in a facility that also handles gluten.
Is there an ALLERGY WARNING?
Mason Jar Cookie Mix Blends are prepared in a kitchen where products containing gluten, soy, milk, nuts and peanuts are produced. In addition to their labeled ingredients, each blend may contain trace amounts of gluten, soy, milk, nuts or peanuts
What is the shelf life of a Jar of Mason Jar Cookies?
Your Mason Jar Cookie Blend will last unopened on the shelf for at least three months, maybe more depending on the mix-ins you choose. But really, we don't think you'll be able to wait nearly that long to break the seal and bake your batch.

How safe is ordering online?
We do not store any credit card information, and your credit card transactions are securely handled by PayPal Pro. We will never, ever share any of your personal information (like your email address, for instance) with any other company and take very precaution to keep all of your personal information safe with the most up-to-date security practices.
How much is shipping, how are my cookie blends shipped, and when can I expect them?
We use UPS as our shipping provider. Shipping options are up to you, and you can choose from overnight to ground. This does not include the custom-assembly time, which is typically completed within one to two days of order placement, weekends excluded). If you need your order by a specific date, please email us to let us know and we will do everything we can to accomodate you.
What if I want to ship to multiple locations?
Mason Jar Cookie Blends make great gifts and most of our customers create different blends and ship them to multiple locations. Our site will allow you to designate a different recipient for each custom jar you produce.
